Since the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Britain has demonstrated genuine leadership in supporting Kyiv. However, the situation has changed somewhat recently.
The head of state reported this on Telegram.
"Throughout this war, we have seen Britain demonstrate real leadership. In weapons, in politics, and in supporting the life of Ukrainian society. This is what saved thousands of our people. This is what truly matches Britain’s strength. But now, unfortunately, the situation has slowed down," the president noted.
Zelenskyy explained that Ukraine will try to talk to partners to fix this.
"Because long-range capability is truly a matter of principle for us. And the whole world sees how effective Ukrainians are - our entire people - when they defend their independence," the head of state said.
He noted that Kyiv is currently doing everything to provide Ukrainian soldiers with the necessary weapons, the necessary reinforcements. And, according to the president, it is in this context that it is certainly important for partners to remove the barriers that prevent Ukraine from weakening Russian positions exactly as the course of the war requires.
"Long-range capability for our forces is the answer to all the most important, all the most strategic questions of this war. The courage of our soldiers, the fortitude of our combat brigades are now compensating for the lack of necessary solutions from our partners," he emphasized.
At the same time, Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine will continue to strengthen its diplomatic work.
"We need something that really changes the course of the war... We need all the partners that can really help - to help. This includes the United States, Britain, France and other partners," he concluded.
Let us recall that Ukraine has not yet received permission to strike the Russian Federation with British missiles.
It should be noted that Ukraine receives long-range missiles not only from Great Britain, but also from France and the United States. However, these countries have set a condition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces not to use their weapons for long-range strikes on Russian territory.
