A pontoon bridge built by the Russian military across the Seim River in Russia’s Kursk region has disappeared. Smoke, likely from an explosion, can be seen near its site.

Radio Liberty reports this.

New satellite images taken on August 19 show smoke detected 500 meters from the pontoon crossing between the villages of Zvanne and Hlushkove.

Earlier, the outbreak near the crossing was detected by NASA’s FIRMS satellites, which monitor fires on the earth’s surface.

Another pontoon bridge, built to the east of the village of Hlushkove, is still there, according to the photo from August 19.
