During the latest shelling of Ukraine, Russia carried out 230 attacks. The defence system worked, but serious damage to the power grid could not be avoided.
This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the forum "Ukraine-2024. Independence". He noted that due to these strikes "there is no electricity in the whole country", but the energy supply to Ukrainians should be resumed.
"There were 230 attacks. Our defence system worked, but nevertheless, there is serious damage to the power system. Professional people are fighting, our power engineers are working... The defence is multi-level. We are working on this... It is clear what to do, and we are doing it. Unfortunately, not all over the country has power yet.
However, he refused to name the scale of the destruction, since this information could be used by Russia, in particular, in relation to the Kyiv hydroelectric power station.
"As for the details of the destruction of hydroelectric power plants or other facilities... I do not support it when the enemy knows what specific damage it has caused to Ukraine, the energy system, etc. with its strike. There are details that the whole world should know about what Russia is doing here, on our land... But the condition of certain of our buildings and what we are doing there now - let this remain in silence," Zelensky noted.
