
The Dutch Minister of Defence noted that the Marines conducted training for Ukrainian soldiers and taught them how to use the military equipment provided.
The Netherlands is transferring 28 Viking Bandvagn S10 tracked vehicles, which were used by the country’s marines, to Ukraine, Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced.
"The Netherlands is currently delivering 28 Viking tracked vehicles," Brekelmans wrote.
He specified that the Dutch marines taught Ukrainian soldiers how to use these vehicles and prepared Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers to work with the Vikings.
"Ukraine desperately needs our help in the fight against the Russian aggressor... Our support for Ukraine continues to keep Russia at bay," Brekelmans said.
Viking Bandvagn S10: What kind of cars are these?
The Viking BvS10 is a Swedish-British two-unit amphibious armored personnel carrier manufactured by BAE Systems Hägglunds. According to Wikipedia, the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps operated 73 of these vehicles.
The Vikings consist of two parts connected to each other. The machines weigh about 11 tons and can move on water at walking speed.
