The Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped the Russian offensive in the Pokrovsk direction
The enemy has not slowed down on its own, the assaults continue with a large amount of equipment and personnel, but the Ukrainian defenders have taken up positions and are holding the line.
In the Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk region, the Defence Forces succeeded in stopping the advance of Russian occupiers. This was reported in his Telegram channel "Officer+" by a lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign "Alex".
"We have managed to halt the enemy’s advance in the Pokrovsk direction for several days now without significant successes or advances. It is worth noting that the enemy has not slowed down on its own, has not taken a break, assaults with a significant amount of equipment and personnel continue, but our guys have taken up positions and are holding the line. The epicenters of the fighting in this direction are now Selydove and Halitsynivka," he said.
He added that the Russians are using everything they can in terms of technology to block the passage under the railway bridge in the Selydove area. They have already spent four units of equipment on this, they are simply abandoning them and running away.
Soldiers of the operational brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Kara-Dag" captured an enemy tank on the move in the Pokrovsk direction. Also in the Donetsk region, the Russian Armed Forces are trying to "probe" the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Torske, trying to find weak spots in the defence. This was reported in his Telegram channel "Sniper Says" by a soldier of the 24th separate assault brigade Stanislav Bunyatov, call sign "Osman".
"During the recent assault, the guys destroyed 2 BMPs, 2 BAGs and up to two infantry platoons. Separately from the assault actions, a tank was discovered and destroyed, which supported the assault of a small group and several D-30 guns. Overall, the guys are great," he wrote.
In the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 5 August, it was reported that in the Liman sector, the Defence Forces stopped 27 occupants’ attacks near Druzhelyubivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Novosadove, Nevske and Torske. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 52 assaults and attacks in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Selydove, Mykolaivka and Myroliubivka, where the invaders, with the support of aviation, tried to force our units out of their positions.
