This was stated by the acting mayor of the city, Oleksandr Lomako.
"It turned out that it was security forces who burst in with a decree, according to which they needed documents from 2017, which were 7 years old. On this basis, armed people physically blocked the work of the entire city council," the official writes.
Lomako claims that security forces are searching his office and other city council premises "instead of obtaining the documents they need upon written request."
He calls it "political pressure on orders from above." He says that the security forces have been "intimidating" deputies for a long time.
The police reported that they are conducting searches in the Chernihiv mayor’s office in connection with a case of illegal allocation of a land plot.
Investigative actions are also being carried out at the municipal enterprise, commercial structure and at the residential addresses of its managers.
According to the investigation, officials granted the company the right to develop municipal land without an auction. They built a gas station there.
