NABU has completed the investigation of large-scale corruption at the Chernivtsi customs office

NABU and SAPO have completed the investigation into the case of a criminal organization at the Chernivtsi customs, as a result of which the state incurred millions in losses.

Members of this organization organized the illegal importation of high-demand goods from Turkey (clothing, footwear, accessories) through the "Vadul-Siret" customs post. The scheme involved declaring transport as empty or disguising imported products with cover goods (fabric, particleboard, brick) with a much lower customs value.

As a result, the state suffered losses amounting to 290 million UAH.

Three current and former employees of the Chernivtsi customs, including its ex-chief, as well as eight individuals, have been notified of their suspicion in this case.
