Air defence forces destroyed 35 drones at night
During the night of September 16 to 17, Russia launched more than 50 attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against Ukraine. The air defence (AD) managed to destroy 34 drones.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
In total, the enemy launched 51 UAVs from the following directions:
- Kursk;
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
- Chauda Cape.
To repel the air attack, the following were involved:
- aviation;
- anti-aircraft missile troops;
- mobile fire groups;
- radio-electronic warfare units of the Air Forces and Defence Forces.
In total, 34 drones were destroyed. During the operation of the radio-electronic warfare, 12 UAVs were locally lost in several regions of Ukraine. Another two returned to Russia.
AD operated in:
- Mykolaiv;
- Kherson;
- Sumy;
- Poltava;
- Kharkiv regions.
