The Defence Forces destroyed 66 Shahed-type attack drones that the Russians used to carry out attacks on Ukraine on the evening of September 23.

This was reported in "Telegram" by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the night of September 24 (from 20:00 on September 23 to 07:00 on September 24), the radio engineering troops of the Air Forces identified and tracked 85 Russian aerial attack assets:

one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Rostov region;

two guided air missiles X-59/69 from the airspace of the Bryansk region;

one missile (type being specified) from the Kursk region;

81 Shahed-type attack UAV from the areas of Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The main directions of the attack were the north and center of Ukraine.

The aerial attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defence Forces of Ukraine.

As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 66 enemy attack drones were destroyed in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions.

Another 13 drones were lost in several regions of Ukraine due to active countermeasures by the Defence Forces.

The Air Forces urged not to act independently when detecting suspicious objects resembling drones, but to immediately report to law enforcement agencies or the local military administration.
