Zelenskyy in New York met with the President of France Macron

On Wednesday, September 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in New York. During the negotiations, the parties agreed on the preparation and equipping by France of a Ukrainian brigade.

"Every meeting with President Emmanuel Macron strengthens our bilateral relations and yields results that contribute to the protection of lives," Zelenskyy emphasized.

During the negotiations, the Ukrainian president informed Macron about the situation on the front lines and the needs of the Ukrainian armed forces.

"We discussed further strengthening of Ukrainian air defense and the preparation of our military. France will prepare and equip a Ukrainian brigade. I am grateful for this decision," Zelenskyy added.

The head of state also expressed gratitude to France for its active support of Ukraine’s membership in NATO and the EU, as well as for all the military aid received.
