In the winter of 2024-2025, power outages in Ukraine might be avoided if Russian occupiers do not damage critical energy infrastructure.
This was reported by the Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko.
Halushchenko noted that a recent UN report suggested that power outages in winter could last from 4 to 18 hours per day.
— We invited their representatives to understand where these calculations came from. It turned out that they have no real basis, – he emphasized.
The minister explained that outages may still occur, but only in emergency situations without a systemic pattern.
At the same time, it is necessary to protect the energy system from new attacks by Russia.
