State Final Examination was canceled for all schoolchildren: the specialized committee supported the draft law, – press service of the Verkhovna Rada

The Committee on Education of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the draft law No. 12053, which proposes to cancel the mandatory State Final Attestation (SFA) for students completing studies at each level of secondary education in 2025.

This was reported in a statement from the press service of the Verkhovna Rada. The initiative is aimed at easing the educational process and reducing stress for students, especially under martial law conditions.

The head of the committee, who authored the draft law, is Serhiy Babak. The co-authors are deputies Yevheniya Kravchuk and Nataliya Pipa. They believe that this step will help adapt the educational system to wartime conditions and reduce the burden on students of grades 4, 9, and 11. According to the drafters of the document, the changes are prompted by Russia’s aggression, which has affected the educational process in Ukraine.

The draft law stipulates that if supported by parliament, the document will come into force the day after its official publication.

In addition to canceling the SFA, the draft law proposes to continue conducting entrance exams in electronic format in 2025. It is planned that students will take the National Multipurpose Test (NMT), which will include mandatory subjects: Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine, and one optional subject—this could be "Foreign Language," "Biology," "Geography," "Physics," "Chemistry," or "Ukrainian Literature."
