SSU detained an FSB agent who was preparing missile strikes on Kirovohrad region "bypassing" air defense.
The Security Service detained another FSB agent in Kropyvnytskyi. He turned out to be a 34-year-old local resident who was "leaking" locations of Defence Forces’ bases and movement routes to the occupiers.
According to SSU counterintelligence, the enemy was most interested in the air defense’s firing positions and the locations of logistics warehouses of the Ukrainian troops.
To gather intelligence, the traitor traveled around the regional center, trying to find anti-aircraft missile complexes and radar stations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
If military objects were found, he had to photograph or videotape them, and then "attach" the corresponding coordinates to Google Maps.
The agent information was needed by the occupiers to prepare a new series of missile-drone attacks on the region "bypassing" the Ukrainian air defence.
Additionally, the individual tracked the time and place of military columns’ movement, heading towards the front line.
For conspiracy purposes, the offender constantly changed the routes of reconnaissance outings, which he conducted under the guise of walks.
The Security Service detained the individual "red-handed" while he was conducting a reconnaissance near a military object.
At the scene, the detainee’s mobile phone was confiscated, on which he photographed the Defence Forces’ object. An anonymous chat was also found in the gadget in a popular messenger, which the agent used for communication with the FSB.
Currently, SSU investigators have informed him of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason, committed under martial law).
The offender is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The special operation was conducted by SSU officers in the Kirovohrad region under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
