In May 2024, the High Anti-Corruption Court seized an apartment belonging to the wife of Brigadier General and former head of the Cyber Security Department of the SSU, Illya Vityuk.
This was reported to the media by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau in response to a journalistic inquiry.
The NABU noted that they are conducting a pre-trial investigation into possible money laundering of assets obtained through criminal means. As part of this investigation, detectives are examining the circumstances of the Vityuk family’s acquisition of this apartment.
"The prosecutor submitted the relevant motion due to sufficient grounds and reasonable suspicions that this apartment may be subject to special confiscation in cases provided for by the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the bureau reported.
The NABU also added that they had not received any requests from the NAPC regarding the seizure of this apartment.
