Yaroslava Mahuchikh was awarded the title of the best athlete of the year in Europe
Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh has been recognized as the best track and field athlete of the year in Europe. The Ukrainian received the award at the European Athletics Awards ceremony.
This became known from the live broadcast of the "Athlete of the Year 2024" ceremony.
In 2022 and 2023, Mahuchikh made it to the nomination finals but won for the first time this year.
It is worth noting that throughout the year, the Ukrainian track and field athlete distinguished herself not only with a world record but also won her first gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games, conquering a height of 2.00 meters.
In addition, she won the prestigious Diamond League series and the European Championship for the third consecutive time.
