"You omnivorous b@tch, bastard!": crypto-fraudster Mykola Udyanskyi threatens violence against an expert who investigated his crimes

"Biotrash, bastard, moron" - no, these are not quotes from a fight between petty criminals outside a liquor store. These are fragments of messages sent to me by the Honorary Consul of Romania in Kharkiv, Mykola Udyanskyi, after my column about his speech at the N Crypto Awards 2024, which turned out to be the biggest disappointment, if not disgrace, of the conference.

Because the event’s headliner turned out to be a dud, offering nothing but banality, profanity, and public confessions of trying to circumvent the National Bank’s restrictions through peer-to-peer (p2p) transfers between individuals.

By the way, everyone can verify these findings on their own by watching his speech.

It turned out that the revelation of the "crypto visionary" — as Mr. Udyanskyi calls himself — being a fake, caused the honorary consul’s tremendous rage. He bombarded me with messages full of threats and insults, even stooping to criticize my appearance, although I’ve never had complaints about it throughout my life. )))

It would be interesting to ask the leaders of the Ukrainian and Romanian Foreign Ministries, Andriy Sybiha and Luminiţa Odobescu: is this style of the honorary consul’s communication part of diplomatic etiquette? And what is a person with such communication manners even doing in a diplomatic position?

Honestly, I wasn’t planning on further investigating the "crypto visionary’s" activities, since after his speech at the specialized conference, it’s evident that there’s nothing to explore. However, after these personal insults and intimidation, I decided to query people in the IT sphere and Ukrainian special services to find out who this Mr. Udyanskyi is and how he ended up in the "head of sub-department cleaning," sorry, diplomatic position.

Meanwhile, everything I’ve learned about this gentleman confirms my professional understanding as an economist: all so-called decentralized cryptocurrencies are classic "Ponzi schemes." But that’s beside the point.

I did not find an answer as to how Mr. Udyanskyi became the Honorary Consul of Romania in Ukraine, but from open sources, I learned that he was friendly with Ramzan Kadyrov’s entourage, received awards from Lavrov’s students, vacationed with organized crime leaders, and shot at his own guards. Admittedly, he leads a busy life, but what it has to do with diplomatic service is entirely unclear.

The only explanation I have for how a graduate of Kharkiv Vocational School №9 suddenly became a consul, even if honorary, is money. This diplomatic status is likely needed to avoid criminal liability and unrestrictedly leaving Ukraine.

Here is the story of how a person who calls his kind of occupation by the mysterious term "crypto visionary" made his first millions. Spoiler – it was a classic financial pyramid and network marketing. And assisting the "crypto-visionary" were Dmitriy Medvedev, Olga Buzova, and the Russian State Duma.

Let’s return to the distant year 2016. It was then that "crypto visionary" Udyanskyi began building his "financial-cryptocurrency pyramid" in Indonesia, where he lived at the time. The name of this mega-crypto is now remembered only by deceived investors – E-DinarCoin.

The first victims of Udyanskyi were naïve citizens of Indonesia and Ghana. Presentations of the new cryptocurrency oozed optimism and promised a rich life and "successful success."

Paid articles, like carbon copies, appeared in top media outlets in Indonesia, Nigeria, and even Ukraine. Not all of them, however, were marked as "advertising."

To promote it, popular Russian bloggers were engaged, such as Dmitriy Medvedev (yes, the same one) and, forgive me, Olga Buzova, who even recorded a separate video.

Udyanskyi, who had then moved to Bali, even filmed a YouTube show "Rich Bali" with $10,000 giveaways for those who enriched the fraudster by millions. Apart from money, only "creative application and the coolest mood" were required from potential investors.

Investors in E-Dinar Coin were convinced that the risks of acquiring "coins" were minimized by insurance from the ASSUR company, represented by... /drum roll/ — also Udyanskyi! Of course, actual insurance was not conducted, as evidenced by the "zero" reports of the insurance company for 2017-2018.

The start of open trading of E-Dinar Coin on the exchange is dated March 2017. At the beginning of sales, one EDR cost 25 US cents, and by July of that year, it was traded at a price below one cent. Over 886 million "coins" were issued, for which "suckers" paid about $150 million. Despite the sad price dynamics and issues with exchange and payments, the E-Dinar Coin promotion campaign continued throughout 2017. Udyanskyi opened representative "offices" in Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, India, and China.

In 2020, the fairy tale came to a definitive end. E-Dinar Coin trading ceased, the cryptocurrency was delisted from all more or less significant crypto exchanges, and all investments in EDR turned to dust.

Of course, no insurance payouts were received by the deceived clients of "Narkoin." And how could they have been received if the LLC ’’E-Dinar Coin’’ was already re-registered by Udyanskyi in 2016 to a certain Yuriy Poltavskyi. Who was this insurance in ASSUR represented by? A person with "authority," known for collecting premiums but not paying them. According to court records, he was accused of robbery, bodily harm, illegal possession of weapons, deliberate destruction of property, and illegal drug trafficking and later sentenced to 8 years with confiscation.

Unsurprisingly, having profited from "suckers," in 2022, the pyramid partners filed for the liquidation of LLC "E-Dinar Coin".

Udyanskyi returned to Ukraine, and thanks to the "earned" money, got into the Ukrainian version of the Forbes-100 list (though Forbes itself was quite skeptical and essentially ridiculed his inclusion by citing several questionable facts), and began founding crypto exchanges: CoinsBit (in May 2021, the crypto project UFO accused CoinsBit of fraudulent actions) and Qmall Exchange, which, according to him, was the first Ukrainian exchange subject to regulation by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the National Bank (both regulators deny any relation to this project).

Let us summarize. In my opinion, Udyanskyi’s thorny path to the position of Honorary Consul of Romania lies through actions that bear signs of fraud, friendships with notorious Russians, and outright crime. As well as money earned from "pyramids," for which this perhaps insignificant but still official diplomatic "seat" was most likely bought. It’s becoming clear why the "crypto guy" needs this seat — not only for vanity but also for immunity from possible criminal prosecution.

It’s evident to me that Udyanskyi’s position as Honorary Consul of Romania in Ukraine is a gross mistake by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, for which Andriy Sybiha currently bears no responsibility. But the keywords here are "currently." Because each subsequent day of this Romanian shame on the job is the legalization of the disgrace tolerated by the current minister’s predecessors.

By the way, I do not exclude that later on, I may have reasons to report more about this "crypto visionary" and "honorary consul."
