Google agreed to remove images of military facilities only after public outcry – CCD

After the update of Google Maps, numerous images of Ukrainian defense infrastructure appeared, but the company agreed to address the issue with the images only after public outcry.

This was reported by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the NSDC, Andriy Kovalenko.

"We are reaching out to them to fix this quickly, but they have a weekend. It’s not timely. Russians are already actively spreading these images," Kovalenko reported.

After that, according to Kovalenko, Google representatives stated that they are already working on resolving the situation with the images of Ukraine’s military systems locations.
