"Ukrenergo" announced a default on green bonds

NEC "Ukrenergo" will suspend payments for debt obligations on "green" sustainable development bonds starting from November 9.

This was announced by the company’s press service.

In "Ukrenergo", it was noted that this technical decision will be in effect until the completion of the debt restructuring planned for the upcoming months.

The company, along with the Cabinet of Ministers, is taking necessary measures to reach an agreement with bondholders over the coming months.

NEC informed its partners and creditors about the temporary suspension of payments on "green" bonds and assured them of the company’s operational and financial stability.

According to the statement, "Ukrenergo" continues to fulfill its obligations and operational functions. This includes NEC’s ongoing tasks - winter preparation, restoration, protection arrangement, and strengthening the resilience of the unified energy system of Ukraine under martial law conditions.
