In the Kirovohrad region, the head of the Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC) demanded a bribe from a paralyzed soldier

This is reported by the Security Service of Ukraine and sources in law enforcement agencies.

This concerns Iryna Kornilova, who is the head of the Oleksandriya Interdistrict MSEC and simultaneously a city council deputy from the party "European Solidarity".

According to case materials, the official demanded 2,000 dollars from a wounded soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the lifelong assignment of the second group of disability.

The investigation established that the Ukrainian defender received a severe wound during the battles for Chasiv Yar in the spring of 2023. Then, fragments of a Russian guided aerial bomb wounded the soldier, after which the left side of his body was paralyzed.

However, the head of the MSEC still demanded a bribe from the soldier for obtaining the disability status.

Law enforcement officers documented the criminal activity of the official and detained her "red-handed" while receiving the entire bribe amount.

The suspect has now been informed of the suspicion under Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise, or receipt of undue advantage by an official).

The question of choosing a preventive measure for her is being decided. Moreover, the perpetrator faces up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
