
Andriy Melnyk, the former controversial representative of Ukraine in Germany, may be appointed as the new ambassador to the USA.
This is reported by the chairman of the board of the Institute of World Policy, Viktor Shlinchak.
According to his information, Melnyk, who currently heads the Ukrainian embassy in Brazil, has maintained friendly relations with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiha, for many years.
Shlinchak notes that the two other candidates to replace Markarova are:
- Tymofiy Mylovanov - a freelance advisor to Yermak and former Minister of Economy;
- Ihor Zhovkva - Deputy to Yermak.
The appointment of the new ambassador is planned to be completed by the inauguration of Trump.
