Power outages are likely to persist until the end of the week.
It will take three to four days to restore Ukraine’s power system, but power outages are possible next week as well.
This was stated by the head of the Union of Utility Consumers, Oleh Popenko, during a broadcast on the TV channel "News.LIVE".
"We need a few days, maybe three to four days, to fully restore our generation. But at the same time, outages may continue until the end of the week," notes Popenko.
According to him, energy facilities that provide peak consumption in the mornings and evenings were particularly affected by the massive Russian attack. This could extend power outages into the next week.
The head of the Union of Utility Consumers also noted that in EU countries, electricity is five times more expensive than in Ukraine. Therefore, imports create losses for Ukrainian energy companies, and it is important to restore our own generation.
