The Verkhovna Rada secretly excluded the possibility of confiscating property from corrupt officials who, under the new law, can avoid prison by making a deal with the investigation.
According to Anastasiya Radina, the head of the Rada’s anti-corruption committee, on November 20, law No. 4074-IX was adopted regarding the deprivation of state awards for assisting or supporting the aggressor state. This law also amended Article 77 of the Criminal Code, removing confiscation as a possible measure of punishment for such corrupt officials.
Radina claims that these changes were "unexpected," and she intends to prepare a draft law to correct the situation.
