ATACMS destroyed an important component of the S-400: the Russian radar "Nadgrobiye"

“This radar is a key element that ensures the effectiveness of the S-300 and S-400 systems, allowing them to detect up to 100 targets simultaneously, including high-speed aircraft, low-altitude cruise missiles, and even ballistic projects,” military experts state.

The "Nadgrobiye (Tombstone)" radar operates in the S-band and has a range of up to 300 km, allowing for the monitoring of a significant airspace area. Thanks to the phased array antenna, the station can scan the space quickly and accurately, even under conditions of active electronic suppression. Its mobility allows for rapid position changes, making it an important element of defence.

“In fact, this radar serves as the eyes of the S-300 and S-400 systems. Its destruction deprives the complexes of the ability to effectively track targets, significantly reducing their combat capability,” experts explain.

For Ukraine, this was a strategic victory. The destruction of the "Nadgrobiye" opens new opportunities for drone, missile, and aviation operations, reducing the risk of being targeted. This operation demonstrates the effectiveness of Western precision weapons, which can disable key nodes of enemy defence.

“Thanks to ATACMS, Ukraine can strike targets at a considerable distance without endangering the lives of pilots or operators. These missiles have become a powerful tool in destroying critical elements of Russian military infrastructure,” analysts add.
