The authorities occupying the territories of the Luhansk region have "nationalized" approximately 80% of the "ownerless" real estate in the seized regional center.
This was reported by the so-called "administration" of the city and the publication "Tribune" on November 29.
"About 80% of the "non-residential" real estate has been recognized as the "municipal" property of Luhansk," the occupants’ statement reads.
The publication emphasizes that the so-called "nationalization" process is ongoing in the occupied territory of the Luhansk region. In settlements, they are searching for housing and other real estate belonging to Ukrainian citizens who have left their homes. Subsequently, the occupation "administrations" publish lists of identified "ownerless" properties on their internet resources and demand that the owners appear at the "office" within 30 days.
As reported by the coordinator of the human rights organization "Donbas SOS," Violetta Artemchuk, the organization is most frequently contacted with questions about the possibility of arranging a power of attorney or gifting agreement for housing to relatives located in the occupied territory. However, according to the coordinator of "Donbas SOS," the pseudo-authorities require personal presence and registration of the property in accordance with Russian legislation.
"If in May-June the questions were about how to prevent the ’nationalization’ of real estate, now they are asking us about solutions," Artemchuk emphasized.
