Cybersecurity specialists from the Main Intelligence Directorate successfully carried out a large-scale cyberattack on the systems of Russia’s "Gazprombank." Terminals across Russia are not functioning.

According to sources in the DIU, this was reported by Channel 24.

It is reported that as a result of the powerful DDOS attack, "Gazprombank" clients lost access to online banking and the bank’s user mobile account.

It is also known that hundreds of thousands of Russians could not make money transfers and online payments due to the bank’s non-functioning apps.

Sources added that the attack also blocked the operation of "Gazprombank" terminals throughout Russia. For example, in the public transport of Tomsk and Voronezh, the payment terminals for fares stopped working.

"Russian media confirmed the fact of the DDOS attack on the Gazprombank website, which stopped being accessible at all in France and Germany. It is noted that in addition to the website, the bank’s mobile application was also not launching," the publication writes.

It is known that "Gazprombank" is one of Russia’s largest banks. The institution has about 3 million individual clients and approximately 45,000 corporate clients. In November of this year, the U.S. Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions against the Russian "Gazprombank."
