At least 1.2 million men have illegally left Ukraine, - MP

At least 1.2 million men from Ukraine have left the country illegally, reports MP Anna Skorokhod (For the Future).

This is the official figure, but the real number may be higher.

According to her, this issue will also be addressed by the recently established Ministry of Unity, whose goal is to account for the votes of Ukrainians abroad in future elections.

"We have a huge number of people abroad. Most likely, they will not return before the elections. We need to count them, understand where they are, and somehow organize interaction. You don’t know exactly how many people are in Poland and how they are distributed across regions. And this has political significance. I think options for conducting elections there will be discussed later. Consular offices won’t cope. An online option may be added. But authorization will be needed, and registration is required. We have 1.2 million men who left illegally. That’s as far as we understand," Skorokhod noted.
