Cabinet of Ministers approved the list of positions that include language requirements for candidates

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to require the heads of law enforcement agencies to learn English. The list of positions includes employees of the National Police and the State Emergency Service.

First and foremost, this requirement will affect leadership positions. This was stated by Member of Parliament Oleksiy Honcharenko in Telegram.

The parliamentarian published a draft resolution of the Cabinet, which approved a list of positions with English language requirements for candidates. It should be noted that the resolution has not yet been approved, so the language requirement is not yet in effect.

Once the document comes into effect, candidates for the position of Head of the National Police and their deputies will be required to know English. This requirement will also apply to sector heads, department heads, chief inspectors, and assistants to National Police leaders.

In addition, English will become mandatory for leaders, advisors, and assistants of interregional territorial police bodies.

A similar requirement applies to employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, including the head and their deputies, detectives, and heads of organizational, analytical, and strategic development departments.

In the SES, English will be required for candidates for the positions of head of service, their deputies, and heads of sectors and departments. As with the National Police, in the SES, knowledge of English will be mandatory for leaders of territorial bodies and departments. The list of SES positions includes psychologists, senior assistants, dispatchers, and operators.
