In Ukraine, the process of registering cars for volunteers who receive military vehicles as humanitarian aid for the defense of the country has been significantly simplified. Now, such a car can be registered in one’s own name and used until the end of martial law and for 3 more months after its termination.
This was reported by the government press service. To register a car, several steps need to be taken:
1. Submit the required documents to the MIA service center for temporary vehicle registration:
2. Obtain a temporary technical certificate.
3. Within 10 days from the date of signing the acceptance-transfer act, the vehicle must be re-registered to the military personnel specified in the act.
4. After the end of martial law, transfer the vehicle to the military unit.
In case of these circumstances, the record can be reinstated upon the request of one of the servicemen specified in the acceptance-transfer act. If such data is not available, the service center will notify the unit where the serviceman served about the need for departmental registration of the vehicle.
Servicemen who received vehicles from the beginning of December 2023 until the enactment of the resolution can register them within the next three months. To facilitate further re-registration of the vehicle to other military personnel, the acceptance-transfer act can specify up to five people who will have the right to operate this vehicle.
