Situation at the front: The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the pressure of Russian invaders, 171 battles took place

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook  as of 22:00 on Sunday, December 29.

«The Defence Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back the pressure from the occupying forces. The situation in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Vremivka directions remains tense, with the enemy focusing its main offensive efforts there. In addition, the occupiers are actively attacking in the Lyman direction today», the report says.

According to the General Staff, there have been 171 combat engagements as of this time. Today, the terrorist state carried out 6 airstrikes, dropping 9 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, the invaders deployed 752 kamikaze drones for attacks and conducted over 4,100 shellings on our troops’ positions and populated areas.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian terrorists attempted to storm our units’ positions near Hatyshche once, the attack was repelled, and the enemy did not succeed.

The enemy attacked our positions six times in the Kupiansk direction. Near Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, and Lozova, Defense Forces units repelled all enemy attacks.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian defenders in the areas of Hrekivka, Zelenyi Hai, Platonivka, Pershotravneve, Nadiya, Makiivka, Terny, Yampolivka, Ivanivka, and Bilohorivka today. Our soldiers repelled 23 enemy attacks, and three combat encounters are ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, since the beginning of the day, the enemy has made one unsuccessful attempt to dislodge our defenders from their positions near Zolotarivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled seven attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky, with two combat encounters still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the occupiers tried to advance seven times in the areas of Shcherbynivka and Toretsk, with two enemy attacks still ongoing as of now.

In the Pokrovsk direction, throughout the day, the aggressor attacked our positions 40 times in the areas of Zelenye Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenko, Novyi Trud, Vovkove, Solone, Novooleynivka, Novovasylivka, and Novoyelizavetivka. Eight combat encounters are still ongoing.

According to available information, enemy losses in this direction today amounted to 482 killed and wounded, with one infantry fighting vehicle, two vehicles, and one motorcycle destroyed. Additionally, two tanks, six armored fighting vehicles, and three units of enemy automotive equipment were significantly damaged.

In the Kurakhove direction, the invaders attempted to advance 18 times at this time of day. Three attacks are ongoing. The enemy attacked near the settlements of Ukrainka, Slovyanka, Petropavlivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne. In this direction, the enemy’s losses amounted to 74 killed and wounded, with one tank, one BMP, and one enemy vehicle destroyed, and three AFVs and one enemy mortar damaged.

In the Vremivka direction, the aggressor attempted to storm our defense’s front line 19 times near the settlements of Konstantynopolske, Yantarne, Uspenivka, Konstantynopil, and Pryvile, with two combat encounters ongoing.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, our troops repelled one enemy attack.

In the Orikhiv and Hulyaypole directions, the enemy did not conduct active operations.

The Defence Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct operations in the Kursk direction. Today, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 38 attacks by the occupying army in this direction.
