Ukraine has returned 189 citizens from Russian captivity, - Zelenskyy
As a result of a new prisoner exchange on Monday, December 30, Ukraine returned 189 of its defenders.
This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.
"The return of our people from Russian captivity is always very good news for each of us. And today is one of those days: our team managed to bring back 189 Ukrainians home.
These are soldiers — defenders of Azovstal and Mariupol, Chornobyl NPP, Snake Island, from various fronts. Among them are soldiers, sergeants, officers. These are national guardsmen, including Azov fighters, border guards, territorial defense, warriors of the Naval and Armed Forces. And also two civilians who were captured in Mariupol. Each of them is awaited at home by their family and loved ones. And it is a joy that we managed to bring them back. Today, another 189 families are happy."
