The website of the National Bank could have fallen victim to a hacker attack

The press service of the National Bank of Ukraine has not yet provided comments regarding the disruptions on the official website of the NBU.

However, some bank employees speculate that the issue may be related to a hacker attack.

"The technical department has not reported any malfunctions, and there were no internal emails on this topic. However, a suspicious email appeared on the corporate mail this morning — spam with an offer to follow a link to a dubious page. Usually, such things are filtered out and do not enter the internal system, so this raised suspicions of an attempted hack," an NBU employee reported.

The source also compared the incident to a hacker attack on one of Ukraine’s largest mobile operators in 2024, where a similar scheme was used for hacking through the distribution of malicious content.
