In the territory of the occupied Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, IAEA staff recorded two loud explosions near the station.

This is stated in a report on the IAEA website.

It is noted that the explosions on January 5 near the ZNPP coincided with reports of a drone attack on the station’s training center, posing another threat to nuclear safety at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.

According to reports, two loud explosions were heard outside the perimeter of the station at approximately 12:45 and 15:45.

«So far, the IAEA has not been able to confirm any impact. The IAEA team also reported hearing repeated machine gunfire coming from the site», – the report states.

The IAEA also learned about a «probable drone attack on the ZNPP training center, directly outside the station’s perimeter». There were no casualties or injuries, and the nuclear power plant equipment was unharmed.
