The "Kozak-5" armored vehicle from Ukraine has become an important asset for the marines on the Pokrovsk front — one of the key zones of confrontation.

On the Pokrovsk front, where battles reach their highest intensity, the 38th Separate Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Naval Forces successfully carries out missions, holding back the enemy’s superior forces. In this, they are assisted by the latest Ukrainian-made armored vehicles "Kozak-5," which have become practically indispensable in combat. This was stated in an interview with ArmyInform by a marine unit commander with the call sign "Borzyi".

In the combat zone, every device matters: mobility, coordination, and reliability of machinery can become decisive factors for the execution of combat missions. In this regard, the "Kozak" armored vehicles have established themselves as equipment "without which there’s no way on the front line now".

Pokrovsk front: a challenging section of the front line

According to the commander, the Pokrovsk front — is one of the important points of resistance. The Russians are trying to encircle the city, advancing from the flanks and planning to reach the Pokrovsk – Kostyantynivka – Chasiv Yar line. The enemy’s goals also include advancing to the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region. However, these plans remain unfulfilled thanks to the resilience and skill of the Ukrainian marines.

The enemy employs the tactic of constant assault attacks by small groups, which are massively destroyed still in the "gray zone". However, the enemy’s pressure requires operativeness and mobility from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which the "Kozak-5" provides.

"Of course, we do not allow ourselves to approach close to the positions. The Russians use reconnaissance UAVs and FPV drones. So to approach the very front line is to become an easy target for the occupiers and suicide. Nobody fights like this now, we value each brother’s life, unlike the enemy," — said "Borzyi".

The armored vehicle is built on a Ford F-550 base with a 440 horsepower engine from the USA. It has high mobility: a maximum speed of up to 120 km/h, and a range of up to 1000 km. The Ukrainian-made armor withstands shrapnel from mortar fire.

The landing compartment accommodates up to 8 people, and a heavy-caliber NSVT ("Utes") machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber is mounted on the capsule cabin, making the vehicle effective for suppressing the enemy during combat missions.

A recent incident confirmed the reliability of the armored vehicle: after mortar shelling, the shrapnel only slightly damaged the cabin and glass, but the crew and the troops remained unharmed. Such characteristics underline the quality of Ukrainian armor and design, intended for the harsh conditions of war.
