Approximately 34% of the weapons in Ukraine are of domestic production.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Warsaw during a joint meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and representatives of the media, reports a Ukrinform correspondent.

“At the beginning of the war, the proportions of assistance from Europe, the USA, and Ukrainian production were different, and today we have different proportions…: about 33-34% of all weapons in Ukraine today are of domestic production from the 100% needed per year. And this is significant growth - it was less than 10%... Approximately 30% is Europe and about 40% is the United States of America,” Zelenskyy noted.

He emphasized the importance of unity in the issue of international partners’ assistance.

“We cannot look at the guarantees of current support for Ukraine without one of the partners, which are maximally equivalent, as you can see - Europe and the United States of America. It is important for us to maintain this alliance. This is also a security guarantee. When we talk about future security guarantees, which we will discuss with the United States of America, we will also talk about this,” said the President.

According to him, currently, Russia has more tanks, planes, helicopters, but Ukraine excels in drone production.

“If you look at the number of factories in the military-industrial sector, Russia will have 30+, and in Europe, in the EU, there will be 40+. Why is Europe producing less today - a serious question. How can Europe produce more? Give more contracts to its domestic producer, its people,” Zelenskyy believes.

In his opinion, Europe can increase production by 2-3 times, strengthening its defense capabilities and helping Ukraine resist Russian aggression.

Zelenskyy also emphasized that part of the security guarantees for Ukraine is NATO membership.

In turn, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted that it is very difficult today to develop a common Western position on Ukraine’s accession to the Alliance, as individual countries oppose this.

“I am convinced that security guarantees for Ukraine after the end of hostilities should be serious. There is no better form of full security guarantees for Ukraine than NATO membership. But we know that currently, this can evoke controversial emotions in some countries, and it does not depend only on President Zelenskyy’s will or on my support,” Tusk emphasized.
