Russian drones attacked Kupyansk: three police officers and two civilians were injured

In Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, as a result of a "Molniya-2" UAV strike, three police officers and two civilians were injured.

This was reported on Telegram by the Main Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region.

"On January 21, around 9:00, the occupiers struck with a "Molniya-2" UAV on the police officers who were on duty in the city of Kupyansk. Three police officers received shrapnel injuries of varying severity. They are receiving medical assistance. A service vehicle was damaged," the message states.

A civilian car was also hit. "A 64-year-old woman and her 68-year-old husband, residents of Kupyansk, were injured," added the police.

Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 438 (war crimes) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As reported on Facebook by the Head of the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, Serhiy Bolvinov, the Russians shelled Kupyansk six times in the morning, using the tactic of repeated strikes against emergency services.

"The double "Molniya" strike occurred when medics arrived at the scene. The ambulance vehicle was damaged, but the crew managed to leave the scene and evacuate the injured woman," Bolvinov noted.

According to him, the 64-year-old local resident suffered injuries to both legs.

The police officers - a sergeant and a lieutenant from the response unit of the Kupyansk District Patrol Police, have shrapnel wounds, and a lieutenant from the consolidated unit of the Luhansk Department received a blast injury.

"Despite numerous attacks, the police continue to work. We collect fragments and evidence of the war crime by the Russians at the sites of the strikes," added the head of the investigation.
