Putin will demand a fivefold reduction in the size of the Ukrainian army and guarantees that Ukraine will not join NATO, Zelenskyy announced at the forum in Davos.
He also noted that Kyiv will not agree to reduce the army.
Recall that the reduction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was discussed as part of the Istanbul agreements in the spring of 2022. According to the published documents, Russia and Ukraine exchanged their proposals regarding numerical values. However, the final approval of the size was not reached, as the negotiations were suspended.
Later, the demand for the reduction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ("demilitarization") was put forward by Putin in June 2024 among other conditions for ending the war.
