HACC confiscated an apartment from the deputy head of the Poltava Regional TRC

The High Anti-Corruption Court confiscated a three-room apartment in the center of Poltava worth over 1.9 million UAH from the deputy head of the Poltava Territorial Recruitment Center, Oleksandr Kotyukh, due to questionable sources of funds.

In 2023, the official’s mother purchased the apartment, although her income was insufficient for such a purchase. The NACP and SAPO established that Kotyukh himself lives in the apartment with his family.

The first report about the acquisition of property whose value was not covered by official income appeared last year. According to the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, in May 2023, the family of deputy head of the regional Territorial Recruitment Center and SP Oleksandr Kotyukh bought a car and an apartment in Poltava.

This refers to a TOYOTA RAV4 car for almost 1.5 million UAH and an apartment in Poltava for 1.9 million UAH, which was purchased by the official’s mother. According to SAP, on May 26, 2023, Oleksandr Kotyukh’s mother bought an apartment measuring 97.7 m² for 1 million 920 thousand UAH. On her behalf, based on a power of attorney, the official’s wife acted. According to the investigation, the property was purchased at his instruction.

Court case materials reveal that the official’s family uses and resides in the purchased apartment, paying utility bills for the maintenance of the building.
