In the city of Bucha, Kyiv region, a local resident discovered a mortar shell for the "Nona" self-propelled artillery unit during a walk. The dangerous finding was removed by sappers for further disposal at a special site.

This was reported by the press service of the Mobile Rescue Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The demining of the region is not yet complete.

"In Bucha, during a walk in the forest park area, a local resident found an object resembling a munition. Pyrotechnicians quickly arrived at the scene, examined the object, and identified it as a "NONA" 120mm mortar shell," the press service reported.

The sappers removed the shell and transported it to a special site for further disposal in the established manner.

The 2S9 "Nona-S" self-propelled artillery unit is the primary artillery system of the airborne and air assault forces. It is tracked, armored, amphibious, air transportable, and can be airdropped using parachute, parachute-reactive, and landing methods.
