State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine blocks the cryptocurrency exchange KUNA

The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection has restricted access to the cryptocurrency exchange KUNA based on a court decision. This decision was made on January 22, 2025, in connection with a request from the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, which suspects the platform of possible financial violations.

The resource blockade is carried out according to the decree of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv at the request of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BES). According to the order, Ukrainian internet providers are obliged to restrict access to the kuna.io website and its subdomains. The execution of the decision must be confirmed by sending an appropriate report to NCU.

The decision to restrict access was made in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, specifically Article 32 of the Law "On Electronic Communications," the Presidential Decree on the introduction of martial law, and the Procedure for operational and technical management of telecommunications networks in a state of emergency.

It is likely that the blockade of the cryptocurrency exchange KUNA is related to suspicions of using the platform for illegal activities such as money laundering, financing illegal operations, or avoiding financial control.
