Smuggling of retro cars: BES detectives arrested an elite Rolls-Royce
As part of the criminal investigation into the smuggling of luxury cars, detectives from the Territorial Office of the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) in the Kyiv region, following a ruling by the investigating judge, seized an illegally imported 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II.
The pre-trial investigation revealed that the suspects organized a scheme for the illegal import of cars.
A forged certificate of conformity for the individual approval of the vehicle, used to import the mentioned vehicle across the border, was confirmed by expert conclusions.
Currently, by the decision of the Solomianskyi District Court of Kyiv, the seized vehicle has been arrested. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted on charges of smuggling excise goods (Part 1 of Article 201-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), carried out by BES detectives in the Kyiv region with the assistance of the Kyiv customs.
