The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported where Russian troops concentrated their forces for the strike

Russian forces in the south of the Donetsk region have focused their efforts on capturing Kostyantynivka and advancing along the highway towards Zaporizhzhya.

This was reported by Ivan Tymochko, head of the reserve council of the Ukrainian Land Forces.

The military official specified: "This is the first, intermediate stage. The next direction they will attempt to advance along the highway is the settlement of Bohatyr. These are the tactical objectives of the enemy’s offensive actions. Very serious battles are currently underway there. This is related to the enemy’s attempts to straighten the flanks in this direction. By reaching the area of Kostyantynivka, they will try to establish a defensive line there and transfer some of the troops to Pokrovsk."

Tymochko emphasized that the main goal for the Russians is to capture Pokrovsk and advance north in the Donetsk region: "They aim to connect forces from Pokrovsk towards Kramatorsk. This is why we observe an intensification of hostilities in the direction of Kramatorsk. This involves movement through Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, and also attempts to advance from Lyman. This appears to be a unified plan by the Russians to capture the entire Donetsk region."
