Experts from DeepState noted that in January, Russian forces captured 325 square kilometers of Ukrainian land. They assessed the pace of the occupation. This information was asked to be commented on by a representative of OSG "Khortytsia".
Victor Tregubov, a representative of the Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops "Khortytsia", reported that there has been a noticeable decrease in military activity in recent days.
He discussed this in a telethon broadcast.
The representative stated that the war has entered a phase where the Russians are focusing on specific directions and are not trying to attack the entire front line. They are less frequently conducting frontal attacks, opting for tactical maneuvers, particularly concerning Pokrovsk.
I do not intend to comment on others’ maps, but yes, there are certain indications that the pace of the advance is slowing down. This is caused by several reasons. Firstly, in some areas, the Russians are bogged down in urban combat, – Trehubov noted.
According to him, in Chasiv Yar and Toretsk, Russian forces are moving more slowly than they would like. In addition, the Defence Forces are conducting counterattacks.
The second reason: many occupiers have been directed to one task – the attempt to encircle Pokrovsk. There, the AFU and Russian forces "pull" each other in different directions.
Like Kyrylo Budanov, Victor Trehubov made sports analogies. However, he compared the situation not to a football match, but to a boxing match.
"Both sides are tired. It somewhat resembles a boxing match approaching the tenth round, where clinches begin (attempts to hold the opponent, – Channel 24)," – he shared.
Of course, only quantitative indicators do not mean it has become easier for the fighters. However, the enemy failed to achieve advances "under Trump’s inauguration." They are not capable of quick leaps. Nonetheless, the enemy significantly outnumbers in infantry and has a favorable situation on some fronts.
