Brigadier General Hennadiy Shapovalov announced his departure from the position of commander of the operational command "South" on his Facebook page.
"I had the honor to lead the troops of the operational command "South" - a powerful military team that has heroically and devotedly defended the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine on all fronts since the first days of the Russian-Ukrainian war," – wrote Shapovalov.
In mid-January, it became known that Zelenskyy appointed Shapovalov to a new position for coordinating military aid from international partners. At that time, the president emphasized that the key task of the brigadier general would be to coordinate military cooperation with partners, including the supply of military aid to Ukraine.
