Russian strike on Izyum: Pregnant woman killed, children injured

As a result of the Russian Federation’s ballistic missile strike in Izium, a 14-year-old girl was hospitalized with very severe injuries, as reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.

On February 4, a "Iskander" ballistic missile of the Russian armed forces hit the center of the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the Russian strike, civilian structures were affected — administrative and residential buildings. According to the relevant services, the number of injured has increased. Among those injured are three children aged between 6 and 16 years. Among the deceased is a pregnant woman. The head of the Kharkiv RMA, Oleh Syniehubov, wrote about the situation in Izyum on his Telegram channel.

Synyehubov published updated data on the injured. Initially, the official reported 50, then 55 injured. Among the victims of Russia are three children. The Russian missile injured a 6-year-old boy and girls aged 14 and 16 years. The condition of the 14-year-old girl is severe, while the other two minors are of medium severity, the official added. The majority of adults are government employees (from the Tax Office, Children’s Services, state executors, and others). There are injured among college staff.

The number of fatalities from the Russian ballistic missile strike has not changed. It is five people: three men (ages 44, 69, and of unknown age) and two women (data unknown), according to Syniehubov’s post. Later, the official added that information about the women emerged: they were 18 and 19 years old, and one of them was pregnant.

The head of the RMA also listed the civilian structures that were struck by the ballistic missile:

The building of the Iziyum City Council — partially destroyed;

Another administrative building — damaged;

Three residential buildings — windows damaged.

The Syniehubov channel and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have photos taken at the impact site. They show a seriously damaged administrative building, internal destruction, and broken glass and frames. In some photos, there are bodies of the deceased.
