Defence Minister Rustem Umerov discussed new joint projects with a delegation from the Intergovernmental Defence Cooperation Agency (AMOS) of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic, accompanied by leading Czech defence companies, including rifle manufacturing.
Umyerov announced this on Facebook.
«We are strengthening defence cooperation with the Czech Republic. We discussed specific steps to accelerate the delivery of support from the Czech Republic and expand our cooperation», emphasized the minister.
According to him, «we have productive experience of cooperation with AMOS, so we focused on key areas».
In particular, this includes the production and supply of large-caliber ammunition; exchange of military technologies and the development of industrial cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
He noted that they are also «launching new joint projects to strengthen our soldiers on the front. One of them is the manufacture of rifles within the Danish financing model».
«Part of this weaponry is already being manufactured in the Czech Republic, and for the other, we are negotiating the localization of production in Ukraine», added Umyerov.
The Minister emphasized that «the Czech government and defence companies continue to make a significant contribution to our security».
