An explosion occurred in the center of Mykolaiv: there are dead and injured
On the afternoon of Friday, February 14, an explosion was heard in the center of Mykolaiv during an alert. However, it was not related to an enemy strike.
This was reported by local media and the city’s mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.
Around 14:10, Senkevych wrote about the explosion in Mykolaiv on his Telegram channel. At that time, an air raid alert was declared in the region.
"An explosion was heard. We are investigating," wrote the mayor.
Soon after, local media began reporting that the explosion occurred in the center of Mykolaiv, near a dining establishment.
This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region. According to the police, at least two people died and eight were injured.
"Today, February 14, around 14:00, an explosion of an unknown object occurred on Pogranichna Street near a public catering establishment. As a result of the explosion, two people died. According to preliminary information, eight more people were injured. Currently, investigators from the regional police department, forensic experts, bomb technicians, SSU employees, rescuers, and medics are working at the scene," the report states.
