The Russian Federation is destroying the historical center of Mariupol under the guise of "restoration," - NRC

According to the information source, there are few buildings with historical value left. A significant part of the settlement was destroyed by the enemy with massive shelling to the ground.

"Thus, in the central part of the city, representatives of the Russian occupation administration (ROA) decided to allow the construction of so-called "new" housing on a mortgage for Russians from depressed regions of the Russian Federation and immigrants from Asia," the report states.

The NRC emphasized that this is a targeted policy aimed at changing the ethnic composition of the population and creating the illusion of a "return to life" in the destroyed city.

Meanwhile, residents of Mariupol remain homeless as compensatory apartments are not provided to them. According to the source, all construction is solely focused on the relocation of Russians.

Furthermore, despite loud statements by the occupiers about "repairs," construction work has been halted due to insufficient funding, and the imported workers constantly complain about salary delays. As a result, the occupiers often limit themselves to merely cosmetic repairs of facades, while the interiors of the buildings remain uninhabitable. However, the facade is "presented in the best traditions" of Russian propaganda for Russian media.

"The Center of National Resistance emphasizes that no matter how hard the enemy tries to make Mariupol Russian, they will never succeed, as the soul of this city is blue and yellow," added the resource.
