Poroshenko plans to appeal to the court over the NSDC sanctions

After the National Security and Defence Council imposed sanctions against him, the fifth president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will appeal to the court.

He revealed this in an interview with "Censor.NET".

"What they are doing is called chaos. Because the law states that sanctions cannot be applied to citizens of Ukraine who are on the territory of Ukraine," the ex-president declared.

He added that sanctions are applied to foreign states hostile to Ukraine and legal entities registered there, due to obstacles in conducting investigations.

"So you are forced to limit their actions in order to stop them from harming Ukraine. And what is happening with us? We are persecuting political opponents as if there is nothing more important to do," added the leader of the "European Solidarity" party.

Poroshenko emphasized that any steps could be taken against him at any time within a transparent legal procedure since he is in Ukraine.

He also claims that during the imposition of sanctions, his tax identification number was illegally replaced.

"This is simply criminal responsibility. Because imagine, tomorrow they will change the law, and the day after tomorrow, the election results," Poroshenko stated.
