Territorial Defence fighters in the Chernihiv region shot down a Russian missile, debris from which fell on the "Kyiv-Chernihiv" highway
On February 17 at 15:38, fighters of the 119th Territorial Defense Brigade shot down a Russian cruise missile heading towards the Chernihiv region.
This was reported to Suspilne by the commander of the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the 119th Brigade with the call sign "Mechanic".
According to him, the debris fell on the road and damaged a truck.
"An alert was announced, and we moved to the position, took it, and waited. We detected three air targets. Possibly, they were grouped. One missile was flying in our direction, and we engaged it. Initially, the missile was not heading towards us, and then something changed. Suddenly, we managed to shoot it down," said the commander of the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the 119th Brigade.

Driver Vitaliy Havres told Suspilne that he was driving from Chernihiv. Missile debris fell near his vehicle.
"15 meters away from me, they fell (missile debris, — ed.). They punctured the tire, the windshield. I didn’t know there was an air alert. Well, I was driving and wasn’t using the phone the whole way."

The Patrol Police of the Chernihiv region reports that the debris of the shot-down missile fell on the M-01 road "Kyiv-Chernihiv-Novi Yarylovychi" and damaged the road surface, a metal guardrail, as well as the glass and wheel of a truck parked on the roadside.
