The SSU detained four underage accomplices of the terrorist attack in Mykolaiv

The Security Service and the National Police detained agents of Russian special services during the day, who planned to carry out a terrorist attack in Mykolaiv on February 14 at the behest of Russia. On that day, the Russians used a resident of Poltava region to blow her up along with explosives near a café in the city center. As a result of the explosion, the woman and three military personnel died on the spot, and seven more people were injured.

This was reported by the press center of the SSU.

Counterintelligence detained the accomplices of the crime in hot pursuit. They turned out to be four minors from the Poltava district aged 14 to 17, who were recruited by the occupiers through Telegram channels seeking "easy money."

Following the instructions of the Russian special services, the youths independently made a homemade explosive device, hid it in a backpack, and handed it over to a 42-year-old resident of a neighboring village. The woman then traveled to Mykolaiv to allegedly "hand over a bag of money" to a local resident.

"Unaware that she was holding a disguised explosive, she approached a parking lot near the café where a group of Ukrainian military was standing. As soon as the woman approached them, the Russian special agents remotely activated the explosive via a call to her mobile phone. According to available information, the enemy had pre-prepared the elimination of their agent as an ’unnecessary’ witness to the attack," the SSU noted.

Meanwhile, the minor accomplices "went underground" in their homes, waiting for money from the occupiers.

However, they were detained by law enforcement. During the searches, the boys’ mobile phones were seized containing evidence of contacts with the FSB, as well as components for making an explosive device.

The detainees were charged under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code (a terrorist act committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, which caused the death of people). Despite their age, they face life imprisonment.
